Enlisted at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp 12 March 1918. Disembarked Suez from SS Port Lyttleton 4 August 1918. Transferred to Rarotongan Company 18 September 1918. Embarked on SS Malta for New Zealand 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919.
In November 2022, we interviewed a descendant who said that the burial location of Pte Akaitia KOROITI was near the current the site of the Bank of the South Pacific in Avarua, Rarotonga. The burial ground was cleared for infrastructure.

Left to right in this photo are the three KOROITI brothers, Pte Oiaua KOROITI 60643, Pte Akaitia KOROITI 60748, Pte Teremaki (TeAkataa) KOROITI 5th Rarotongan Contingent. All three brothers were born on the island of Mangaia. Their sister Rima was the wife of soldier Patu URITAUA 16/1215.
