Enlisted 12 March 1918 at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp New Zealand. Disembarked at Suez 4 August 1918. Admitted to a Field Ambulance 11th of October 1918 and from Haifa sailed by Hospital Ship Assaye to Alexandra. There he disembarked on 18 October 1918 and was admitted to 21st General Hospital until 9 November 1918 and discharged to duty 14 November 1918. Embarked on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919. On discharge was unfit due to illness contracted on active service due to tuberculosis of the lung. Died 2 August 1920 in Aitutaki of tuberculosis.
