Additional information
Enlisted 6 September 1915 and embarked for Egypt 4 February 1916 and posted to 4th Battalion New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Promoted to Warrant Officer Class-Il as Company Sergeant Major 1 November 1916 and in March 1917 he was selected to officer training. Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant 31 July 1917. Returned to New Zealand for the training of reinforcements at Trentham Military Training Camp 27 August 1917. Posted to 3rd Rarotongan Contingent and embarked with that contingent 13 June 1918 and was transferred to the Rarotongan Company 11 August 1918. Embarked for New Zealand on SS Malta 14 December 1918. Upon his return to New Zealand he went to Rarotonga in March 1919 with Captain Bush to escort the contingents home and returned in April 1919 on SS Paloona. Discharged 17 June 1919.
