Enlisted 14 March 1916 and embarked Wellington 19 August 1916 to disembark Devonport, United Kingdom 25 October 1916. Attached to the New Zealand Tunnelling Company Royal New Zealand Engineers 6 December 1916 to 28 February 1917 when posted to New Zealand Pioneer Battalion. Transferred to hospitals in United Kingdom sick from 3 October 1917 and then to New Zealand Engineer Reserve Depot, Boscombe 3 October 1917. Transferred to Rarotongan Company 12 April 1918 and then from No.8 Rest Camp to the New Zealand Depot Unit of Supply in Marseille for passage to Egypt 16 May 1918 via SS Canberra. Posted to the Rarotongan Company in the field 15 June 1918. Returned via SS Malta 14 December 1918 and was discharged in New Zealand 7 March 1919. Died Auckland 12 January 1962.
