At enlistment was employed as a horticulural instructor, Cook Islands Administration, Rarotonga. Enlisted 13 August 1917. Posted to 35th Reinforcements 15 November 1917 and then to Narrow Neck Military Training Camp as a Corporal 25 February 1918. Posted to the Rarotongan Company as Company Quarter Master Sergeant (CQMS) 18 September 1918. He replaced Sergeant Baisley Leger as CQMS of the Company. Returned on SS Malta and was discharged in New Zealand 7 Mar1919. Returned to Rarotonga in 1919 and was active in the RSA in the 1920s.
Received the CQM (Commonwealth Queens Medal) on 6th May 1935 for services to the Cook Islands.
