Additional information

Enlisted in Rarotonga 1 July 1916. Disembarked at Suez from SS Malwa 27 December 1916 and joined the Rarotongan Company 7 April 1917. Admitted to 24th Stationary Hospital, Abbassia 31 August 1917 and was operated on for a hernia. At Belah in October 1917 while working with surf boats unloading stores he fell in the boat and damaged his back and continued to have recurring difficulties. In November 1918 he was medically downgraded as he was classified as unfit for further military service and returned as an invalid on SS Malta. Discharged 20 March 1919.
