Enlisted in Rarotonga 1 July 1916. Arrived in Egypt 27 December 1916 and posted to the New Zealand Mounted Rifle Brigade at El Arish from the NZ Mounted Rifle Depot Moascar. Rejoined New Zealand Mounted Rifle Bde Training Regiment and Base Depot 7 April 1917 and posted to the Rarotongan Company.
Admitted to 33rd Casualty Clearing Station, Jaffa 25 July 1918 and at 24 Stationary Hospital, Kantara 17 August 1918. Discharged from Duty 18 August 1918. Transferred to Rarotongan Company 1 October 1918.
Embarked for New Zealand on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and was discharged 20 March 1919.
