Enlisted 12 March 1918 and disembarked at Suez 4 August 1918. Posted to the Rarotongan Company 18 September 1918. Admitted to 33rd Casualty Clearing Station at Jaffa 24 September 1918 with malaria and transferred to 31st Stationary Hospital, Gaza 29 September 1918 and then to 27th General Hospital, Abbassia 2 October 1918. Discharged to Aotea Convalescent Home 14 October 1918. Returned to New Zealand on SS Malta from Suez 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919.
Cook Islands Roll of Honour Board records his name as 'N. Ngatoi'.
Possibly buried in Rarotonga. Headstone and grave to be confirmed by family
