Enlisted 27 September 1915. Embarked for France at Port Said 9 April 916. Medically boarded and found to be unfit for further service. Embarked for New Zealand on SS Rotorua 17 November 1916. Embarked at Wellington for Rarotonga on SS Paloona 1 March 1917. Discharged 26 March 1917.
There are two headstone memorials/plaques showing the same service number for this soldier. The name on the granite military headstone in Rarotonga has been defaced.
