Enlisted in Rarotonga 1 July 1916 and arrived at Narrow Neck Camp 9 July 1916. Declared medically unfit before proceeding on service. DOD (Died on Duty) 4 October 1916 at Auckland Hospital, New Zealand and was buried at O’Neill’s Point Cemetery, Auckland, New Zealand. The date on his official military headstone states that he died 14 October 1916 which our research leads us to believe is incorrect.
