Medically discharged in New Zealand, but re-enlisted as Peta TEI in the 4th Rarotongan Contingent at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp Auckland New Zealand 12 March 1918. Appointed Temporary Lance Corporal 6 July 1918. Discharged 7 December 1918.
His broken headstone was found at Wigmore’s store Vaimaanga and moved to the RSA Nikao, Rarotonga April 2019. Headstone repaired in 2023 and a memorial built in Nikao Cemetery, Nikao, Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
