Enlisted 12 March 1918 at Narrow Neck Military Training Camp Auckland New Zealand. Embarked at Wellington 13 June 1918. Posted to the Rarotongan Company 15 November 1918. Embarked at Beirut 22 November 1918 and arrived at Alexandria 24 November 1918 where he was admitted to 17th General Hospital with severe malaria. Embarked for New Zealand on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919.
