Additional information
Enlisted 1 July 1916. Disembarked at Suez 27 December 1916 and posted to the New Zealand Mounted Rifle Bde Training Regiment and Base Depot. Posted to the Rarotongan Company 20 March 1917. Admitted to 66th Casualty Clearing Station on 19 August 1917 with appendicitis, then to 24th Stationary Hospital with colitis on 23 August 1917. Transferred and admitted to various Stationary Hospitals 25 August 1917 to 28 September 1917. From 12 to 18 October 1917 was a patient of the Aotea Convalescent Home before returning to the New Zealand Mounted Rifle Bde Training Regiment and Base Depot. Diagnosed with 'mental derangement' (acute mania) towards the end of the war. Returned as an invalid on SS Malta.
