Enlisted 12 March 1918, embarked on the SS Manuka at Wellington 13 June 1918 and disembarked at Suez 4 August 1918. Posted to the Rarotongan Company 18 September 1918. Embarked for New Zealand on SS Malta 14 December 1918 and discharged 20 March 1919.
Military headstone located in the Oneroa CICC grounds. Pte Totoroaere was buried at the site of the Mangaia College playground. After the land was declared to be used as a school, the headstone was relocated to the Oneroa CICC grounds where a memorial was built. This information was sent by a descendant to the Nikao Cemetery Restoration Project Facebook page.
