Enlisted 1 July 1916 in Rarotonga. Disembarked from SS Malwa at Suez 27 December 1916. Posted to the Rarotongan Company 7 April 1917. Detached to 97th Heavy Battery Royal Artillery from 11 October 1917 to 9 November 1917. Admitted to 77th Casualty Clearing Station at Jaffa with a septic right leg on 24 April 1918 and transferred to 43rd Stationary Hospital at Kilo 151 before being admitted to 27th General Hospital 30 April 1918. Admitted to Aotea Convalescent Home between 3 May 1918 to 25 May 1918. Admitted to 27th General Hospital with influenza between 21 May 1917 and 25 May 1918. Admitted to a rest camp between 27 May 1918 and 5 June 1918. Rejoined the Rarotongan Company 1 October 1918. Embarked on SS Malta 14 December 1918 for New Zealand. Discharged 20 March 1919.
