The 5th Rarotongan Contingent disembarked in Wellington 6 November 1918 and were discharged 13 November at Trentham Military Training Camp due to the signing of the Armistice on November 11 1918 that ended World War One.

Our team have received information that leads us to believe that this headstone and the neighbouring headstone of Pte Bob NGATAMA 60772 were moved from the graves, and the graves were subsequently cleared during the construction of the Muri Beach Club Hotel.
