Enlisted in Rarotonga 1 July 1916. Disembarked at Suez ex Malwa 27 December 1916. Posted to Rarotongan Company on 8 September 1917 and detached to 97th Heavy Battery Royal Artillery on 11 October 1917. Admitted to various hospitals from 24 November 1917 for the next few months. Embarked for New Zealand per SS Malta 14 December 1918. In quarantine at Somes Island, Wellington, New Zealand January/February 1919. Embarked on SS Paloona for Rarotonga and was discharged 20 March 1919.
