Additional information
Enlisted 21 August 1914. Served with the Imperial Light Horse during the South African (Boer) War 1899-1902. WIA (Wounded in Action) in the abdomen at Gallipoli. Returned to New Zealand wounded in February 1916. Re-embarked July 1917 and transferred to the Canterbury Mounted Rifles then transferred to the Rarotongan Company and promoted to Second Lieutenant to replace Lieutenant Coull in November 1917. Returned to New Zealand in October 1918 due to health issues from his old wound. Posted to Narrow Neck Military Training Camp November 1918 to embark with the 4th Rarotongan Contingent. Discharged 20 December 1918.
